The Industrial Hygienist will play a key role in providing technical leadership and direction in the industrial hygiene programs for Marathon Mandan and Dickinson Refineries. This position will be responsible for facilitating program compliance with all local, state and federal safety and health regulations. In addition, this role coordinates the industrial hygiene exposure assessment and annual monitoring plans and provides subject matter expert support during emergency response incidents. This position provides the opportunity to interact with all levels of management and employees.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated, customer centered, a self-starter, capable of making timely decisions, a constant advocate for worker health, and be capable of expanding beyond the stated responsibilities. Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects concurrently is required. A proven track record of partnering with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to determine effective control or reduction strategies is required.
A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety, Chemistry or related discipline and three to five years of experience is required. Certified Industrial Hygienists (CIH) and those with oil and gas industry experience are preferred candidates. Strong written and verbal communication skills, proficient PC skills, and demonstrated skills associated with writing technical reports, procedures, guidance documents, and training materials are required. Estimated travel for the position is 25%.
