The Cash Accounting Specialist I position is designed to support the Homewood Campus in providing petty cash disbursements, consolidating Dunbar deposit courier bags, and posting SAP JV uploads. The ideal candidate will perform one or more of the following: deposits and reconciles cash receipts; assists with email proxy for deposit transmittals and posts deposit transmittals.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Handle disbursements of petty cash to students, employees, and participants.
Verify the accuracy and completeness of petty cash vouchers prior to disbursing the funds
Take credit card payments over phone or by fax. Process payment through VPOS and clear invoice through SAP
Complete the Dunbar manifest that tracks deposit bags and provide copies of log when necessary
Complete JV Uploads received by email, also format and upload into SAP daily
Provide customers with copies of petty cash voucher documentation/correspondence when necessary
Prepares bank deposits for cash or checks when necessary
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
High School degree required
AA degree or 60 credits preferred
At least 2 years of work experience either in receivable or accounting environment
Additional education may be substituted for experience as permitted by the JHU Equivalency Formula.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
