Medical Assistant needed for our shared specialty office. We are looking for a motivated, reliable person who can go above and beyond with our patients. Responsibilities include patient care, assisting with procedures, medical documentation, and all aspects of medical front and back office duties. Must be a team player with the ability to multi-task.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist patient to exam room.
Screen patient prior to doctor’s exam and document in EPIC.
Prepare for patient procedures.
Effectively explain processes to patient.
Maintain and operate equipment accordingly to safety and quality control regulations.
Maintain inventory and supply ordering.
Help monitor clinic flow.
Stock exam rooms.
Front desk check-in, check-out.
Follow-up appointment scheduling.
Time of service collection and reconciliation.
Position would be expected to travel to the White Marsh medical office building based on provider/patient scheduling.
High School Diploma or GED.
Certification as Medical Assistant e.g., AAMA, RMA/AMT, NCRMA (NAHP), NCMA(NCCT), RCMAS(NCMA), or CCMA(NHA) or successful completion of exam within 3 months of hire.
A valid CPR certification required upon hire and recertification required every two years.
Certification as Medical Assistant with 1yr related experience.
Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
EPIC experience preferred.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:
Certified Medical Assistant preferred.

During the Influenza ("the flu") season, as a condition of employment, The Johns Hopkins Institutions require all employees who provide ongoing services to patients or work in patient care or clinical care areas to have an annual influenza vaccination or possess an approved medical or religious exception. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
