Position Description: Under general direction of the Assistant Vice Chancellor (AVC) of UCLAs Office of Environment, Health & Safety, coordinate a broad variety of environmental programs across the UCLA organization. Responsibility includes setting goals and priorities, managing resources, and supervising EH&S staff to develop and meet EH&S goals and objectives to ensure protection and stewardship of the environment and safety at UCLA facilities. Duties include personnel management, supervision, and mentoring; coordinating multidisciplinary programs across academic and non-academic facilities; developing policies and procedures; developing strategies and systems for safety, health and compliance; collecting data and maintaining recordkeeping systems; preparing regulatory reports; working with regulatory agencies on issues pertaining to environmental compliance, health and safety at on and off campus facilities, developing applicable training programs, providing training to UCLA staff and faculty; and auditing UCLA facilities. Programs supervised include: 1) Environmental Compliance, 2) Environmental Health, 3) Industrial Hygiene, and 4) Occupational Safety and Compliance.
