The Center for American Indian Health (CAIH) is located administratively within International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. The core activities housed at CAIH include research studies of infectious diseases and behavioral health, and a training program.
The Research Program Coordinator works for the Johns Hopkins Center for American Indian Health (Center) as part of its field-based leadership team. This position works together with the Center’s Albuquerque and Baltimore-based behavioral health faculty and field-based research team to empower American Indian youth to realize their full potential through the promotion of entrepreneurial activities, acquisition of higher education and vocational training, physical fitness, healthy nutrition, and the acquisition of positive life skills. The main responsibility of this position is coordinating Behavioral Health programs in Whiteriver, AZ.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

This position serves as a full-time Research Program Coordinator for Behavioral Health research projects. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Provide programmatic coordination of daily operational activities of the Center.
Coordinate a variety of duties related to the Center’s behavioral health programs including but not limited to materials and curriculum development, data entry and analysis, and participating in regular meetings (teleconferences) with field sites.
Coordinate events and maintain an active schedule of programmatic activities for the Center.
Coordinate field-based efforts for marketing of the Center by supplying regular updates on content and events related to the Center.
Coordination of literature reviews and synthesis of the literature on behavioral health and infectious disease prevention topics.
Assisting with poster and oral presentation, and manuscript preparation.
Work with the rest of project team on duties related to the general conduct of the program and evaluation, and participate in staff meetings to review project goals and progress.
Coordinate program records, and complete regular progress reports.
Review data for document accuracy and processing as needed.
Attend field-based trainings and meetings (travel required).
Assist with the other Center-wide programmatic duties as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in related field required.
Some related experience required.
Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. For jobs where equivalency is permitted, up to two years of non-related college course work may be applied towards the total minimum education/experience required for the respective job.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience preferred.

Ability to travel with overnight stays required as needed. Some evening, weekend and holiday work may be required.
May be required to float to other sites. Guidelines regarding travel time and project vehicle use will be clarified based on specific site needs.
Maintain background clearance as required by the employer and any collaborating agencies.
