Real-world issues are discussed and innovative projects are assigned to provide awell-rounded,meaningfulexperienceaimedatpreparingstudentsforchallengesthatarefacedinartanddesigncareers.
Summary of Essential Functions:
Serve in the role of classroom instructor for Community Education / Professional Practice programs
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver specific content as related to the course assigned
Deliver content that is designed specifically for an adult audience
Prepare and submit a syllabus to the Academic Coordinator within stated deadlines
Exercise classroom management, interventions and support as needed
Keep record of student progress and grades in alignment with MICAâs faculty handbook
Keep accurate attendance records
Supervise students at all times during scheduled class
Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of specific art or design content area and assessment and critique strategies
Skills in material and tool use specific to the course
Ability to deliver scaffolded content to a variety of learners, and adapt to individual needs
Demonstrated experience teaching or equivalent
As a maker/artist/designer /entrepreneur in the course content
Masterâs Degree in related field

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually (minimal, moderate, or high).
Required training: Handbook orientation, Anti-Harassment, Hazard Communication, Emergency Plans & Fire Prevention, Personal Protection Equipment. (additional training may be added, SEE: EHS Manager training schedule)
