Responsible for compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations pertaining to health, safety, and the campus environment by formulating and implementing pertinent policies, programs, and procedures pertinent to the university’s operation.
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field and a minimum of five (5) years' experience in the environmental, health, and safety field. Professional competencies by federal and state laws and regulations to perform essential functions and responsibilities. Certifications (possessed or obtainable within 1 year) required by federal and state laws and regulations to perform essential functions and responsibilities (e.g. certificate of training in DOT hazardous materials transport, hazardous and toxic waste management, HAZWOPER). Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Master's degree in related field, CIH, and/or CSP. Experience in higher education environmental, health and safety environment.
