Position Description: Under the general supervision from the EH&S Industrial Hygiene Program Manager at the UCLA Office of Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S), serve as the technical expert and coordinate a broad variety of programs across the UCLA Campus. The Industrial Hygienist for the Deep Energy Team will provide expertise in personal and area exposure monitoring utilizing advanced instruments while also preparing exposure assessment reports with recommended corrective action plans. The incumbent will provide EH&S support and Industrial Hygiene experience to the program while ensuring goals for energy savings are met without compromising the health and safety of building occupants. Additionally, this position is a support function to the DEEP Energy Program managed by Design and Project Management (DPM) at Facilities Management. The position reports administratively to DPM and all IH technical functions are managed by EH&S. In dynamic research environments, the ventilation risk assessment and the evaluation of the ventilation effectiveness will determine the demand for ventilation and provide recommendations for safely achieving energy savings while also improving the comfort of the building occupants. The incumbent will perform Industrial Hygiene risk assessments and lead the exposure monitoring efforts to collect data necessary for all stakeholders to move the energy program forward. Collaborates with the Chemical Hygiene Officer and other EH&S safety programs regarding ventilation risk assessments including exposure monitoring strategies.
