Position Summary: Develop and implement curricula designed to promote career skills and Life Enrichment activities for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities to enhance employability. Creates customize curricula based on the Individuals strengths and needs. Provide coaching and guidance to direct support team members in the delivery of activities.
Supervise, Teach and mentor direct reports (Facilitators) by providing documented supervision to assure quality, agency and departmental outcomes are met, including interviewing, training requirements, completing talent development reviews, and initial disciplinary action (in conjunction with the supervisor), etc.
Communicate operational concerns/suggestions with Associate Director of ACA & LE.
For Careers: on the job training for Industry specific norms, and develop/create task analysis of S.O.P.'s (Standard Operating Procedures).\
For Life Enrichment: training opportunities in activity area and develop/create a task analysis of activity areas.
Develop curricula in Career & Life Enrichment areas to meet industry/activity specific standards/norms.
Prepare lesson plans and training schedules.
Train PA's and Individual's served on industry's/activitys S.O.P's.
Evaluate/assess Individual for career/life enrichment interests, dreams, goals, skill strengths and areas of needed skill development.
Develop plans and recommendations for Individual PCP that meet individual career/life enrichment interests, dreams, skill strengths and areas of needed skill development.
Ensure proper record documentation by completing and monitoring Individuals goal tracking.
Takes an active role as member of the Career/Life Enrichment Team; working with Associate Director, Career Placement Manager, Career Specialist, Coordinator, Life Consultants, Clinical team & PA's.
Develop and maintain:
For Careers: corporate relationships in assigned industry area.
For Life Enrichment: community relationships in assigned activity area.
Create and score an outcome measurement tools.
Maintain familiarity with individualized clinical plans and implement accordingly
Monitor Individuals health, behavior, clothing and hygiene and take corrective action when necessary.
Communicate concerns to appropriate interdisciplinary team members in order to support individual needs, goals and growth.
Attend professional development sessions.
Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting and communicating with Individuals, team members, visitors and volunteers. Represent self and Aspire as a positive role model in appearance, speech and social skills
Monitor and/or create incident reports as needed.
Transport participants as needed
Perform and assist with personal care, including but not limited to, toileting, transferring, feeding, showering, as needed.
Complete all required paperwork and assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Bachelors degree in related field plus 2-3 years experience.
Experience working with adults with intellectual and other developmental disabilities preferred.
Leadership/Supervisory Experience preferred.
Valid Illinois Drivers License with good driving record.
Ability to obtain and maintain PACE certification.
Minimum 23 years of age.
Effective oral and written communication skills; ability to write reports.
Ability to maintain confidential information.
Ability to deal tactfully, engaging, and courteously with participants, employees at all levels, families, and the general public.
