Summary of Duties: Environmental Health and Safety seeks an Industrial Hygienist 4 to serve as a supervisor and administrator of three programs for WSU including:
A comprehensive respiratory protection program (RPP),
A comprehensive agricultural safety program (ASP),
A comprehensive WSU Research, Extension & other WSU Centers (REC) EHS Program.
The IH4 utilizes and provides a high level of technical skill, knowledge and expertise to research, review and analyze regulations, data, industry trends, and state of the art technology to administer the RPP, ASP and RECEHS programs for WSU.
Required Qualifications: Five (5) years experience as a DOSH Industrial Hygienist (IH), of which two (2) years must be at the IH 3 level; OR a Bachelors degree involving major study in occupational safety and/or health, industrial hygiene, chemistry, physics, chemical, mechanical or sanitary engineering, environmental science, nursing, medicine, biology, or related field AND five (5) years of professional experience as an IH or environmental professional, in the field, or in governmental enforcement, or program implementation activities of industrial hygiene programs, including at least three (3) years of experience as an IH or equivalent. A Masters degree involving major study in industrial hygiene or related field can be substituted for one (1) year of industrial hygiene or related field experience. Must possess a valid drivers license.
