A Job Training/Safety Advisor assists member cooperatives and statewide cooperatives with their safety training, job training, and educational programs. In this position, you will be given the opportunity to work alongside peers who are versatile, enthusiastic, and continue to strive to push AECI and its subsidiaries and our mission forward.
Assists Safety Coordinators with various field activities to include: inspection of various generation and transmission facilities, inspection and testing of equipment and evaluation of the application of NFPA and NESC codes, OSHA regulations and other consensus standards. Additionally, this position will participate in incident investigations, and audits across the organization, as necessary.
Plans, organizes and collects material; conducts safety information meetings at member cooperatives and statewide generation and transmission cooperatives. Obtains, sets up and operates visual aids equipment and demonstrations.
Assists with technical courses and other training schools. Assists in related organizations, seminars, workshops and conferences to aid in knowledge of new developments in the industry.
Assists with the development and implementation of the company health and safety training program. Monitors individual and department health and safety progression.
Assists with industrial hygiene monitoring and with the development of corrective measures to control identified health hazards.
Performs hazard identification and risk assessments and recommends appropriate engineering and/or administrative procedural controls.
Participates in incident investigations, audits, inspections, and evaluations, as necessary.
Assists with disaster relief activities as necessary.
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or Safety related field and at least 2 years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination or education and experience.
Certified Loss Control Professional - CLCP (obtain within 3 years)
CPR Instructor (Obtain within 1 year)
Certified Environmental, Safety & Health Trainer from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals, or, OSHA Authorized Trainer (Obtain within 2 years)
Arkansas driver's license with Class A CDL endorsement within 1 year.
This position shall obtain the level of training and/or credentials that are required to be recognized as competent in order to provide training on various subjects.
Proficiency in climbing wood pole structures, aerial lift and digger derrick operations is required
Ability to travel approximately 75% of time with frequent overnight stays throughout Arkansas; some duties may be required during non-traditional working hours and weekends
Journeyman Lineman Certification or lineman experience
