The Executive Director of Environmental Health and Radiation Safety (EHRS), reporting to the Vice Provost for Research, leads, directors and oversees all University operations involving: biological safety, chemical safety, environmental safety, industrial hygiene, laboratory safety, occupational safety and radiation safety in support of Penn’s clinical, research and teaching mission. Executive director also serves on committees supporting safety and research compliance.
Duties include but not limited to; conducting ongoing long-range planning, development and implementation of new programs and policies to assure compliance with changing guidelines and regulations, build partnerships with all levels of Penn’s community, enhance existing programs to assure consistency with strategic goals, develop and establish budgets, liaison for government and regulatory agencies, member of the Vice Provost for Research office, providing leadership, guidance and support to initiatives across Penn.
