The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects under the direction of the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences Associate Director of Applied Sciences and the Institute\u2019s Director.
The applicant will join an active outreach program at the Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences and the Oregon Healthy Workforce Center with strengths in safety and health, and industrial hygiene. The outreach program: (a) provides presentations to occupational groups including exhibits at all Oregon OSHA conferences throughout Oregon with topics spanning safety to well-being, broadly defined as Total Worker Health, (b) maintains and evolves an online resource directory for workplace practitioners, (c) collaborates with government workers\u2019 compensation insurance companies, non-profit companies, businesses and labor groups to teach the principles of Total Worker Health, (d) stimulates interest in Total Worker Health through local, regional and national contacts and presentations. We seek someone to complement this program and expand its areas of expertise, increase its impact and reach new audiences and areas of interest. This may include supporting the packaging/polishing and dissemination of evidence-based programs/interventions developed at the Institute, or combining intervention components and tools to create new interventions. The incumbent will also evaluate workplace needs and adapt interventions to satisfy these needs in Oregon workplaces.
