is Now Offering Hiring Incentive for 
Industrial Hygienist!
 

The Delaware Department of Labor, Division of Industrial Affairs recognizes the Industrial Hygienist plays a critical role at our agency.  For that reason, we are now providing monetary recruitment incentives for this position in accordance to our Recruitment Program Policy and Procedures.

Hiring Incentive– $6,000

  • $2,000.00 incentive awarded at the following intervals after the hire date: 6 months, 12 months, and 18 months. 
  • Referral incentive of $1,000 ($500 if candidate referred is hired and remains for 6 months, another $500 if employee stays for 12 months) to current State of Delaware Merit Employees who refer an applicant for the Industrial Hygienist positions and are listed on the application as the referral source.

Incentives are paid in installments as noted above. Bonus is open to a new hire to the State of Delaware.

New employees accepting this incentive must commit to two (2) consecutive years with DOL in the above classification.

NOTE: You will receive more information during the hiring process. This program is administered by the Department of Labor Human Resource Department.  The program may be terminated by Department of Labor at any time with or without notice.

Summary Statement

Seeking an experienced Industrial Hygienist to ensure workplace safety and compliance through risk assessment, hazard identification, and implementation of effective control measures. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, expertise in occupational health regulations, and a proactive approach to mitigating occupational hazards.



Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS for Industrial Hygienist
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:

  1. Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Life or Physical Science or related field.
  2. Six months experience in conducting health and safety inspections to identify hazards or deficiencies.
  3. Six months experience in collecting samples of dust, gases, vapors, contaminants, carcinogens, air borne blood pathogens, temperature, noise or other potential toxic materials.
  4. Six months experience in using tools and test equipment to conduct occupational safety inspections such as air pressure tester, voltage tester, sound level meters, combustible gas indicator, smoke tubes, or explosive meters.
  5. Six months experience in ensuring compliance with occupational safety and health laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  6. Six months experience in narrative report writing.
