The Patient Safety Specialist is responsible for generating and managing coordinated and comprehensive programs in the areas of risk management, loss prevention, and industrial hygiene for Centura Health Physician Group and its affiliates to assure that assets are safeguarded and that quality services are provided in a manner consistent with the mission and values of Centura Health. This position reports to the Associate Administrator, Risk & Regulatory Affairs. The position will assist the peer review file analysis for every provider presented for payer credentialing as well as the pre-screening process when recruiting new providers. The Patient Safety Specialist will assist the occurrence reporting system and compliance with follow up on action plans. Supports the coordination of patient safety and risk control functions throughout the organization and other designated Centura facilities. The Patient Safety Specialist will assist the Associate Administrator, Risk & Regulatory/Accreditation with patient areas, medical staff, hospital personnel and legal counsel.
Minimum Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Minimum Experience Requirements
3 years’ experience - preferred
Ability to analyze and evaluate situations Experience in Patient Safety/Risk Management preferred
Current Colorado Nursing License
☑ Light Work - exert/lift up to 20 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. frequently
