DESCRIPTION Manages the environmental, industrial, health and safety regulations management team for single or multiple facilities. Oversees development,planning, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Handles all contact with appropriate agencies.Oversees the preparation of contracts for waste disposal firms and monitors waste handling. Develops and oversees company training programs for employees in areas such as compliance training, lab/plant inspection, hazardous material handling, emergency response, industrial hygiene, and life safety. Ensures appropriate corrective action is taken where health and safety hazards exist. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Acts as an advisor to subordinates to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems. Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements;may have budget responsibilities. SUPERVISION Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of activities of a department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing. EXPERIENCE Typically requires a minimum of 5 years management experience.KNOWLEDGE/SKILL A experienced manager. Resolves wide range of issues in creative and effective ways. SCOPE Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies. Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization. INTERACTION Frequently interacts with subordinate supervisors, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
